Totalscape LLC is a Clarkston-based outdoor construction and landscaping company built on honest work and real results. Owner John Martin started the company with hands-on experience in landscaping and construction, and he grew it the old-fashioned way: by doing good work and letting satisfied customers spread the word. From the beginning, the focus has been on quality over volume.

Over the years, Totalscape expanded from traditional landscaping into full design/build projects. Today, we plan and build complete backyard transformations, from the first shovel in the ground to the last paver set in place. Homeowners across Oakland County come to us because they want one contractor who handles everything, not a revolving door of subs and surprises.

From your first call through project completion, we keep communication clear and stay focused on quality. Every step is handled with the same attention to detail.

Design & Estimate

John visits your property to assess the space, soil, drainage, and your goals. We provide a detailed estimate and design options tailored to your backyard.

Build & Construction

Once approved, we handle all work—permits, materials, labor, and cleanup. You'll see regular progress updates and have direct access to John throughout the project.

Final Walkthrough

We review the completed work with you, address any touch-ups, and ensure everything meets our standard. Your new outdoor space is ready to enjoy.

Working with Totalscape, LLC owner John Martin has been a truly rewarding experience! John was recommended to us and within 1 day of contacting, our call was returned and an appointment made within the week to assess our project. This was a first "hooray" moment after nearly 2 years of trying to get landscapers to revisit, repair, and add on to our front scape! John's recommendations were not only attractive but mindful of our robust rural deer population. His crew began and completed work in less than 2 full days. The front scape was labor intensive due to the amount of stone bordering - completely HAND PICKED & PLACED, also a beautiful rainbow-hued stone walkway accent in addition to removal, replacement, addition of plantings and extensive mulching. Outcome so stunning we added more work to beautify the back scape! EXTREME PRAISES for John's crew members too - some of the hardest working men on the planet! O.k. I could go on here but would want you to work with Totalscape for a fabulous, stress-free experience and a beautiful, fairly priced outcome!!!
